What’s in the toolbox?

When I was growing up, my Dad had two toolboxes in his garage. In each of the boxes, you could find a variety of tools needed to fix anything. Everything from screwdrivers to wrenches, hammers, and mallets and well a few items which I had no idea as to what they were used to accomplish. My Dad did and frankly, that was all that mattered.

As I think back on the toolbox which sat on the shelf, I realize each day we are faced with a “project ” for which we need specific tools. Some days I need a little more patience, while other days I may need some quiet alone time. Is there something on your calendar for which you may need a specific tool?

I invite you to join me on this journey of ordinary everyday life. A life filled with challenges and choices, joys and sorrows, valleys, and mountain tops a life in which we all may need a couple of tools to help us along the way. I have come to understand that there are a variety of tools that we can put in our own toolboxes to help anyone live a more focused joy-filled life.

  1. You didn’t just toss stuff back into the 🧰. It wasn’t the junk drawer of the garage. Once things were put back in correctly you could close and latch the lid. My father’s second wife told me she had saved his tools for me. That was years ago. I’m still waiting. What she never knew was that I had his 🔨 , a wrench, and a screwdriver. I was all set. Until I read your blog. Now I need to add a few more things—lots of patience!
